From Ambition to Indian Railways: A Young Entrepreneur’s Growing Industrial Supply Story

Fire-safety equipment is the latest category to pass through Chavan Industrial Group for Central Railway — following earlier assignments in communication and surveillance. Quietly, a supply story is taking shape.

01 A milestone bigger than its value

For a young entrepreneur, the significance of a government order is not always measured by the number printed on the purchase order. Sometimes, it is measured by what that order proves is possible.

On 20 March 2026, Central Railway issued Purchase Order 91265153100253 to Chavan Industrial Group — nitrogen-type, stored-pressure fire extinguishers of nine litres each, delivered and documented in full.

By any conventional measure, this is a modest contract, and the company makes no claim otherwise. But the value of an early institutional order can run deeper than its rupee figure — in the experience of participating in formal procurement, meeting a specification to the letter, coordinating inspection, managing documentation, and delivering against an institutional deadline.

“The order itself may be modest in size. The direction it represents is anything but.”

Chavan Industrial Group

For a business still building its reputation, that experience is the asset. It is the work that larger contracts are built upon — and the kind of work that no tender value can fully capture.

02 Another chapter in the railway journey

This, importantly, is not the company’s first assignment for Indian Railways.

Chavan Industrial Group has been quietly building a record of institutional supply across different product categories. Earlier assignments have included Beetel telephones — the familiar brand of telecommunication equipment that long defined offices across India — as well as cameras and surveillance equipment.

A telephone here, a camera there, a fire extinguisher next. On their own, each delivery may appear unremarkable. Read together, they describe something else: a business learning, order by order, how to source, comply, deliver, and survive inside one of the world’s largest procurement systems.

03 From communication to safety

Category by category, the pattern is visible — each new requirement building on the last:

Cat.01
Communication

Beetel telephones

Institutional communication equipment supplied to Indian Railways in an earlier assignment.

Cat.02
Surveillance

Cameras & security equipment

Cameras and surveillance products, expanding the same sourcing-and-supply discipline into a new category.

Cat.03
Fire & Safety

Nitrogen-type fire extinguishers

Supplied to Central Railway under Purchase Order 91265153100253 — the current chapter.

Cat.04
Industrial Supply

The direction ahead

Institutional sourcing, procurement and supply across industrial and government requirements.

None of this is accidental. Institutional supply rewards consistency — the ability to repeat a process across categories, adapt to new specifications, and meet the same standard of documentation and delivery each time.

05 From supply to demonstration

Delivery was only half the assignment

Supply was only part of the work. Alongside delivery, the equipment was demonstrated in person — a live walkthrough for Indian Railway officials of how the extinguisher is handled, discharged, and used correctly.

A demonstration is the kind of detail that rarely appears in a tender document, and precisely the kind that institutional buyers remember. It is practice, made visible.

“This wasn’t simply a product being delivered. There was also an actual demonstration of the equipment, and how it is used.”
06 The entrepreneur’s story

Chavan Industrial Group is the work of Shubhankar Chavan, a young entrepreneur in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, who has approached industrial supply the way it is best approached — without noise, and without skipping steps.

The story unfolding here follows a familiar logic. An opportunity appears, and a young entrepreneur decides to show up for it. Then a specification must be met. A process must be learned. Documentation must be precise. An inspection must be cleared. Each step is unglamorous. Each step is necessary.

Execution of this kind does not happen overnight. It happens through a willingness to begin small, to be patient with process, and to treat every completed order as an asset — not in revenue alone, but in credibility.

07 Why institutional supply matters

Institutional supply — to an organisation such as Indian Railways — is not the same as selling a product. It is a chain of disciplines: reading specifications precisely, sourcing to standard, preparing documentation, coordinating inspection, managing logistics, and meeting delivery commitments.

Each requirement tests a different part of the business. Technical specifications must be understood. Procurement procedures must be followed. Compliance must be exact. In this assignment, inspection was coordinated through CONSG, and the entire consignment was billed and recorded in full.

Each order trains the next. That is why the categories keep widening, and why the company’s position as a sourcing and supply partner keeps deepening.

08 A note from the founder
Milestones like these rarely happen in isolation. Behind every opportunity are people who share knowledge, offer direction, and help you see possibilities before you can see them yourself.

Chavan Industrial Group owes a debt of gratitude to Aakash Sansare and Aadesh Sansare, whose guidance, support and direction have been a constant in working toward milestones like this one.

09 The bigger vision

A growing sourcing and supply partner

Every order is one step toward a larger ambition: to build an industrial sourcing, procurement and supply partner that Indian institutions can call on across categories.

10 The milestone, documented

This is not a claim on a website. There is a procurement record behind it — a purchase order issued by Central Railway, completed and documented in full. Sensitive fields are redacted for this publication.

11 A lesson for the next founder

For the next young entrepreneur reading this, the lesson may be simpler than it appears: you don’t need to begin with a massive company. You need to begin with an opportunity, deliver when it arrives, and build credibility one assignment at a time.

A modest purchase order may look like a small beginning. For a growing Indian business, it can represent something much larger — proof that a small start can find its way into a much bigger supply chain.

For Chavan Industrial Group, this is another order completed. Another category explored. Another institutional requirement delivered.

The journey, however, is only beginning.

The next order could be yours. The next business could be yours.
